It’s June, and wedding season is here. :) As we see many young people starting their new life together, we can use this time to remember the relationship that we have – with Christ.
Let’s take a few moments to delight in Jesus, our heavenly Prince. :) 1) We’ve been rescued I think most girls dream about being rescued by a handsome knight in shining armor. I love this quote my friend has on her blog: “So many girls want a guy to save them. A Man did save you, 2000 years ago on the cross.” It is so true! Jesus rescued us from eternity without Him, endless suffering and separation. 2) He sent us a beautiful love letter and sends us flowers every day When I read through Sarah Mally’s book, Before You Meet Prince Charming, this was one of the things she shared. Think about it. We have a letter that He sent us, telling us of His love. (It also shows us how to live and how to love). Not only that, but think of all the “flowers” He sends us every day! While He definitely created all the flowers that make this world beautiful, think of all the little (and big!) blessings He sends. Answered prayer. People who care about us. Special encouragement. All these things are daily reminders of His love for us! 3) We are loved immeasurably We are loved more than we could ever imagine! Would you give your life for an enemy? I don’t think I would. But that’s what Jesus did for us! He gave His life for us, even when we were in rebellion, running away from Him and His goodness. He loves us when we think we know better; He continues knocking on the door of our hearts. Will we accept it? Now please don’t misunderstand me – We shouldn’t minimize God’s holiness and goodness to an earthly relationship! He is our God and Savior and deserves our respect! But He also desires a personal relationship with us. “Greater love has no man that this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” John 15:13-14

Thanks so much for sharing this! I really loved reading this and being reminded that God can have a personal relationship with us, even though we were once sinners.
